No 2023 Horse Inspections
Sadly, the IDHSNA Board had to make the difficult decision to cancel Inspections for 2023. We are optimistic, however, that we will be able to hold inspections in 2024 as we did receive in total more than 30 paid applications by the extended deadline. Unfortunately, the dispersal of the horses across the United States left us with no 2 or 3 sites where we could capture enough horses to make the overall tour financially viable.

At the same special meeting, the BOD voted to extend the existing IDHSNA purebred amnesty through 2025 (inclusive). See the purebred registration policy for full details. This will provide an additional 2 years for purebred horse’s to be inspected on their own merit as well as allow purebred foals born 2024 and 2025 to be eligible for inspection for their lifetimes.
In 2024, the BOD expects to have similarly high interest in the general areas of:
* Central Region: Northern Indiana
* Northeast Region: New Jersey
* Northwest Region: Missoula, Montana
We hope another site (or two) might also become apparent by the deadline for paid application May 1, 2024. IDHSNA inspections are always held in the Autumn, generally between the end of August through September.
The Board wishes to extend a special thanks to the horse owners who applied for inspection this year. We also want to thank our own Regional Chairs who worked diligently to try to assemble the horses needed for sites. We encourage owners to watch for further information and updates about 2024 inspections. As always, you can help us plan inspections by completing your application with payment in advance of the deadlines!
