Please review the IDHSNA Registration Policies and Registration Checklist (below) in order to complete your registrations. The IDHSNA Registration Policies and Registration forms are available through the IDHSNA Registrar or may be downloaded and printed from the Registration Forms section [see Registration Application Packet].

REGISTRATION CHECKLIST

Purebred Foal Book or Purebred Non-Breeding Book:

 

  1. Completed IDHSNA application form

  2. Completed IDHSNA Marking Sheet

  3. Photographs of the horse showing the markings on both sides and front and back. It is advised that the forelock and tail should be braided up or otherwise kept from obscuring the view of the markings. If the horse has a small hard to see marking, please include a close up of that marking. Please make sure all photos are taken recently.

  4. Proof of Parentage:
    [a] Copy of the dam's papers (if she is not registered with the IDHSNA) and a covering cert. issued by the sire's owner or agent. Horses imported in utero should have a covering certificate from the sire's owner or agent. (In the specific case of a sire that is not registered with an organization that provides official covering certificates, a copy of the breeding contract and statement verifying cover of the stated dam to the stated sire will be acceptable. If you are missing documentation, please refer to section 5.2 of the registration documents for possible remedies.) or
    [b] A copy of papers issued by the IHB or IDHS-GB For variances from these contact the Member Services Coordinator

  5. DNA/Blood typing fee and hair sample (request form on-line)

  6. Recording fee

Stud Book (Direct Entry) for RID, AID or SID:

 

  1. Completed IDHSNA Application Form

  2. Completed IDHSNA Marking Sheet

  3. Photographs of the horse showing the markings on both sides and front and back. It is advised that the forelock and tail should be braided up or otherwise kept from obscuring the view of the markings. If the horse has a small hard to see marking, please include a close up of that marking. Please make sure all photos are taken recently.

  4. Copy of the registration documents issued by the IHB or the IDHS-GB

  5. DNA fee and hair sample -request form on-line. (unless the horse is already DNA tested in the country of origin)

  6. Registration fee

IDSH Non-Breeding Book for horses not previously inspected and approved.
Part ID stallions and mares that have not been inspected and approved must go on the Non-breeding IDSH book and remain there until inspected and approved. Application for Inspection shall require:

 

  1. Completed IDHSNA application form

  2. Completed IDHSNA Marking Sheet

  3. Photographs of the horse showing the markings on both sides and front and back.
