Celtic Moon
Celtic Moon was imported from Ireland as a foal. Moon was sired by the well-known RID stallion, Annaghdown Star. Annaghdown Star won the Stallion Class at The Royal Dublin Horse Show in 1991, 1993, 1994, and was Reserve Champion in 1992. Moon's dam Hughies Lady is from the lovely old mare line that also produced the RID stallion Naldo, and her sire Duleek Hero is out of the wonderful Ben Purple daughter Springfield Star. Moon's pedigree is a great combination of performance and traditional bloodlines which also include Skippy and Woodranger. His only line-breeding was to Glen Lad and some would say it is a good thing as he was a fabulous black horse.
His youngsters are great prospects for fox hunting, eventing, hunters and dressage. He passes on his lovely temperament as well as bone and athleticism to his foals. For most of his life, he lived out with another stallion. He was a beautiful horse and was ridden by his amateur owner in low level eventing.
