Colt

TBD

2023 In-utero colt option from Taproot Rua Diamond by Taproot Prime. Filly will be retained.

Rua was 2019 Champion Partbred foal and Youngstock Champion. Both Rua and her dam, Taproot Strike the Bell, were awarded Bronze Merit. TSTB has produced some very good jumping horses for us, always ads body and bone to her foals, as well as big open movement and a good canter. Prime is by ES Toronto out of an Arab/IDSH mare. He brings lots of presence, cadence and elevation to his foals. We have done similar versions of this cross several times with good success.

Deposit holds your interest in the foal until born. Colts will be gelded at our expense before leaving our farm.

LADY LIADAN

KEC Double Diamond

out of

(by Saucy Token)

IDSH

2009

Mare

15.2

Lady Liadan 2009 Traditional Irish Draught/TB by KEC Double Diamond out of a Family 2 mare by Saucy Token. She stands a compact 15.2h with 77” girth and 9” of bone. She is currently heavy pregnant and will be available after weaning. We can help facilitate putting her back in foal. Liadan has a good square build that takes up a lot of leg. She goes under saddle with some miles in the ring as well as out on the trail. Lia has not had a showing career and she was the personal ride of a busy professional. She hasn’t been in work in several years but could be restarted. I have under saddle videos available. The late KEC Double Diamond is a well proven sire of eventing horses (2* level). He himself, was a Champion in Dressage and Show Jumping. We often use family 2 mares (4 in our herd) due to their strong sport conformation, jumping ability, general athleticism and beauty. We find they cross very well with Irish blood. She is a real find for traditional Irish breeders! Lia was easily put in foal with frozen semen on first attempt. She cycles regularly, has good reproductive conformation and is a great candidate for a broodmare career.

She is a very easy keeper. Sustains herself on a ration balancer and first cutting grass hay. She has not required a dry lot in spring or fall. Lia has excellent feet and follows an 8 week trim schedule. Lia is headstrong on the ground and not a ‘quiet’ ride. However, she is not mean or aggressive in any way; just pushy. Lia is not a spooky sort, very confidant mare. She is happiest living out with her girlfriends but has had a stabled lifestyle during periods of her life.

OneGreatStep (XX)

out of

(by Louis Quartez)

IDSH

2023

TBD

TBD

2023 1/16th Irish Draught sport foal by Taproot Prime out of a winning thoroughbred that also evented. Eligible COP.

Prime is by ES Toronto out of an Arab/IDSH mare. He has crossed very nicely with TBs in the past and we expect no less from this fabulous pairing. Prime brings fabulous lofty movement with a 'knees to eyes' jump in a square, compact body. He comes from the famous Now or Never M/Voltaire line.

OneGreatStep is a stunning mare. She stands 17h with legs for days, a beautiful chiseled head, and a huge gallop! She is a kind mare that bonds with her handlers.

Foal should be suitable to bring up the ranks of evening but also a strong candidate for a career as a show hunter.

REALTRA COSMONAUGHT

Gemstone Clover

by

For All The Girls

out of

(by Defensive Play)

IDSH

2021

Gelding

17.0

If you’re looking for a clean slate to develop into a top level athlete, Cosmo is an ideal prospect. He has quality bone, substance and big, ground covering gaits along with an outgoing, confident personality. Additional, his pedigree boasts legendary Clover Hill, who, from 1990-1995, ranked 16th on the IHB’s list of sires of successful show jumpers, while the dam contributes multiple grade 1 stakes million dollar winners and black-type winners Devensive Play, Sham, Ribot, Grey Dawn and more. Bred to jump and gallop, and with quality bone and a pedigree of soundness, Cosmo should develop into a true lifetime horse with serious athleticism, clean, ground-covering gates and upper level potential. He is likely to excel in eventing, show jumping, fox hunting or hunter derbies.

While he has an easygoing, goofball personality that thrives on attention, Cosmo is already a big lad, about 16.3 -17 hands at the hip. He’s anticipated to finish over 17 hands and will likely remain the largest character in the barn at any size. He has a trusting, playful temperament that, while not particularly hot or reactive, united with his size and athleticism, do not make him an ideal match for an inexperienced amateur.

Cosmo’s ideal home will provide ample daily turnout or live-out opportunities with another horse that possesses a similar joie de vivre and some, if limited, tolerance for Cosmo’s youthful rambunctiousness. He is looking for a home with a professional or experienced, confident amateur to slowly develop him to his full potential. Good horsemanship skills, a sense of humor and some patience will likely be needed for whatever antics he playfully sends your way. If brought along correctly though, Cosmo should have a long career and make an incredibly fun, charismatic lifetime performance horse.
