Updated purebred registration document includes section on Inspection Amnesty

INSPECTION AMNESTY will run from 2017 to 2021 (inclusive), which will allow purebreds to be presented for inspection for Class 1 providing they are registered in the Main Section of the Irish Draught Horse Studbook. Purebreds descended from parents that are entered in the main section of the studbook (i.e., registered and classified as RID, CLASS 1, CLASS 2, AID or GRADE UP, ID, CLASS 4 or Uninspected) and have a pedigree established according to the rules of the studbook (i.e., DNA tested) are eligible. The progeny of Irish Draught Horse stallions/mares of CLASS 3 in the Irish Draught Studbook are not eligible for inspection. In addition, purebreds born 2017 through 2021 (inclusive) and descended from parents that are entered in the main section of the stud book (i.e., registered and classified as RID, CLASS 1, CLASS 2, AID or GRADE UP, ID, CLASS 4 or Uninspected) and have a pedigree established according to the rules of the studbook (i.e., DNA tested) will be eligible for inspection for Class 1 for their lifetimes.


MARE AMNESTY will run, as determined by the BOD from time to time, which will allow mares to be presented for inspection for Class 1 providing they are registered in the Main Section of the Draught Horse Studbook and sired by a stallion that is classified CLASS 1, RID or CLASS 2 and out of a dam that is classified as ‘ID’ in the Irish Draught Horse Studbook. This dam must have a recorded pedigree showing her sire classified as CLASS 1, RID or CLASS 2 and her dam classified as RID, CLASS 1, CLASS 2, AID or GRADE UP in the Irish Draught Horse Studbook. The progeny of Irish Draught Horse stallions/mares of CLASS 3, CLASS 4 or Uninspected in the Irish Draught Studbook are not eligible for inspection.
